Steve Brooks

Mr. Steve Brooks, 73, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation. A graveside service for Mr. Brooks will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 27th, in Brantley Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Rayburn officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Brooks spent most of his life working numerous jobs around the timber yard, which allowed him to indulge in his love of woodworking. In his free time, he loved playing his guitar and singing. He also took pride in the hard work he put into the well-manicured lawn around his home. Above all, there was nothing on this Earth he cherished more than his family. They were his heart and soul, and he showed them his love every day. He especially treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren because they lit up his world. His family will miss him more than words could properly express, but they rejoice that he is now in Heaven where there is no more suffering and he can walk once again down those “streets of gold.”

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie & Inez Smith Brooks, and his brother, Alvin Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patsy Senn Brooks; their two children, Pam (Jackie) Cook and Brad Brooks; two grandchildren, Jody (Lacy) Cook and Paige (Patrick) Smith; six great-grandchildren, Mckenzie & Colton Searcy, Audrey Beth & Hudson Cook, and Paislee & Paxton Smith; five sisters, Jane (Phillip) Rayburn, Betty Ann Dorsey, Doris (John) Diamond, Lynn Brooks, and Tonya (Shane) Baria; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Jody Cook, Patrick Smith, Josh Ryals, Adam Ryals, Drew Brooks, and Danny Walker.
