Susie Catherine Stiles

Cathy Stiles, 84, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. There is no memorial service planned at this time, just a scattering of her ashes, per her wishes.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who fiercely loved her family with everything she had. They could always rest assured that they would always have her unconditional love and support throughout their lives. While she enjoyed the 26 years she spent traveling around the country, and to more exotic locales like Spain and Germany, with her beloved husband during his dedicated service to his country with the United States Air Force, at heart she was just a country girl. She loved nothing more than the quiet days she could spend out toiling in her garden and dropping a line at a favorite fishing spot. A day spent canning vegetables might appear mundane to some, but Cathy found her peace in such routine tasks. She also enjoyed sharing her bountiful harvest with family and friends, who always scrambled for a piece of her scrumptious cornbread. She was also an avid reader and loved to settle in for a quiet evening of reader the latest Western adventure. Above all, she was a truly beautiful soul and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her dearly.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Russell Stiles; parents, Kenneth & Mary Myrtle Bowden Hoover; and siblings, Irene Collier, Dorothy Kobs, and Tolly Monroe Canteberry. She is survived by her loving children, Edward (Debby) Stiles, Susie Newton, and Mary Stiles; grandchildren, Thomas Deininger II, Tasha Deininger, Teressa (Keith) O'Reilly, Jacob Garringer, Jason Garringer, Iva Jolene Garringer, Gina Lindley, and Jamie Price; great-grandchildren, Abagail Adair and Thomas Deininger III; and siblings, Geraldine (Fred) Diemidio, and Ruby Crumpton.
