Mrs. Edwina Ballard Mothershed, 85, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed way after a hard fight with COVID-19 at Baptist Medical Center East on Monday, January 23rd, 2023. A graveside service for Edwina will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 26th, in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Honoraville with Rev. Jim Looney officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at service time.
Edwina was the epitome of a hard worker. She started as a seamstress at Boss Glove Factory and worked her way up to floor supervisor in her 60 years there. In what little free time she had, Edwina loved nothing more than spending time with her beloved family, but especially cherished her time with her grandchildren over the years. Words cannot properly express how much she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, but they know she has been happily reunited with the love of her life, her husband Charles.
Edwina was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mothershed; parents, I.D. & Allene Daniels Ballard; and siblings, Patricia Gregory, Kenny Ballard, Betty Coleman, and Helen Benbow. She is survived by her son, Milton Mothershed; granddaughter, Murry Allene Mothershed; two step-grandsons, Garrison (Megan) Stojak and Mark Blessing III; step-great-grandson, Garrison Stojak Jr; siblings, Kay Wilkerson, Shirley Black, Sue Duggar, Randy Ballard, June Nichols, Becky Coleman, and Jim Ballard; and a host of multiple generations of loving nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Benbow, Wayne Benbow, Miles Horn, Dustin Horn, Stacey Duggar, and Ralph Wilkerson.
