Sylvia Womack Wright

Mrs. Sylvia “Sandy” Womack Wright, 82, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 3 PM on Monday, June 10, in Union Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Womack officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Wright was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked with the State of Alabama for many years before her retirement. She had the soul of an artist, loving to paint, sing, and write stories for the children. She also enjoyed decorating and flower arranging. Her loving presence will remain with those she leaves behind for the remainder of their lives.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Wright Sr; their son, Sam Wright Jr; parents, Edward and Beatrice Womack; and her sister, Judy Barnes. She is survived by her three children, Lynne (Kenny) Lee, David (Bonnie) Wright, and Susan (Irvin) Hartin; fifteen grandchildren, Christi (David) Hartman, Ashley Wright, Judith (Daniel) Wright, Tera Stevenson, Melanie (Scott) Sinai, Deven (Ray) Reynaga, Adam (Sara) Wright, Chris (Courtney) Wright, David (Mallory) Wright Jr, Stephanie Wright, Houston (Ashley) Barnhill, Josh Hartin, Valla (Tommy) Furr, Alecia (John) Edgar, and Anna (Zac) Reese; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Steve Womack; brother-in-law, Gene (Brenda) Wright; three nieces, Patricia Wright, Rita Plemmons, and Leslie Treanor; and two nephews, George (Cheryl) Wright IV and Gregor Treanor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Baptist Hospice, 301 Interstate Park, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. They will receive friends at the church on Monday from 2 - 3pm.
