Thomas "Bookie" Lowe, 64, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, while surrounded by his family. Funeral services for Bookie will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 3rd, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Deacon Donnie Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Spring Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
Bookie was an all-around kind of guy, from playing softball to love old cars, manufacturing work, and driving a garbage truck. He loved his work, family, friends, and his goats...not necessarily in that order! Bookie worked hard to provide for his family, and he was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He never minded helping anyone he met, as strangers were just friends he hadn't met yet. In his free time, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and riding his tractor. Nothing topped the joy of just hanging out on his porch with family and friends to just enjoy the splendor of the outdoors while they swapped stories of the past. When Saturdays rolled around, he always enjoyed cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Bookie and his beloved wife, Rosemary, were always up for Saturday morning yard sales, estate sales, junk hunting, and collecting memorabilia. Above all, Bookie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Bookie was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Ruby Mae Frazier Lowe, and siblings, Bobby Lowe and Mary Ann Cleckley. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rosemary Holmes Lowe; their daughters, Lisa Lowe and Kimberly (Charles) Conway; grandchildren, Tripp Conway, Cayden Conway, and Brylee Conway; siblings, Charles (Cornelia) Lowe and Linda (David) Tadlock; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Lowe, Jeremy Lowe, Adam Bryan, Billy Crumpton, Blake Castleberry, and Brandon Heartsill. Michael Stephenson will be an honorary pallbearer.
