Tommy Edward Horn

Mr. Tommy Edward Horn, 70, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Horn will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 23, at Brunson Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Marnell and Rev. Hunter Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Horn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a vibrant member of his community. He believed in working hard his entire life. He worked for the Container Corporation for over 13 years and later retired from Petrey Wholesale after over 12 years of service. Additionally, he owned his own pine straw business for a number of years. He was also a longtime member of Brunson Chapel United Methodist Church. All those who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence in their lives.

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis and Jessie Olene Catrett Horn, and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Alice Faye Flowers Horn; their four children, Tia Horn Compton, Jane (Stan) Horn, Tommie Sue (Donnie) Meherg, and Patrick (Nicole) Horn; nine grandchildren, Kristin Compton (Benjamin) Salter, Cody Compton, Brayden Compton, Lane Compton, Cortney (Eden) Ward, Becky (Justin) Vann, Brandon Horn, Emalee Horn, and Baylee Horn; six great-grandchildren, Lavon Salter, Olivia Ward, Neal Ward, Huck Ward, Jack Vann, and Owen Vann; and two sisters, Mary Horn Duncan and Hilda Horn.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Horn, Benjamin Salter, Justin Vann, Cortney Ward, Kyle Flowers, and Danny Killingsworth. The family would like to express their gratitude to the excellent care provided to Mr. Horn by Dr. Samuel Patrick Walker, his staff, and Compassus Hospice. They will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:30 - 2 PM.
