Tommy Joseph Tomlin

TOMLIN, Mr. Tommy Joseph, 70, a resident of Rutledge died Sunday February 19, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday February 22, 2012 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moses, Rev. Chris Tidwell and Minister Tim Gafford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Tomlin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Tidwell Tomlin; parents, Joe Frank and Levie Beasley Tomlin; and two brothers, James Tomlin and Charles Tomlin. Survivors include three children, Shari (Michael) Wright, Nathan (Nicole) Tidwell and Kelli Tidwell (Chris) Lee; five grandchildren, Bridget Mathews, Lance Mount, Taylor Mount, Jose Baez and Zachary Tidwell; four great grandchildren, Malakai Mathews, Trinity Mathews, Peyton Wolfe and Aubree Mount; eight sisters, Nelda Catrett, Lenore ( Harold, Jr.) Taylor, Nancy (Dawson) Moorer, Bernice Beall, Barbara (Raymond) Aresaunalt, Martha (Ronny) Thomas, Sally (Curtis) Tindell and Patricia (Tim) Gafford; two brothers, Paul Tomlin and Robert (Kim) Tomlin; and a sister-in-law, Louise Tomlin. Active pallbearers will be Tim Gafford, Dawson Moorer, Harold Taylor, Jr., Larry Tomlin, Ronny Tomlin and Curtis Tindell. The body will lie-in-state at the church Wednesday for 30 minutes prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 pm until 8 pm.
