JOHNSON, Mrs. Virginia Funderburke, 77, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama and formerly of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018. A graveside service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 15, in Ivy Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Johnson was a beloved mother and sister who will be sorely missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Johnson, and her parents, Melvin Lee and Etta Vera Kelley Funderburke. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shellia and Jim McCormick; four sisters, Irene (Robert) Moore, Linda Neuhauser, Glenda Wright, and Penny (Hubert) Little; sister-in-law, Becky (Colin) Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Randy Sexton, Nate Wright, Mel Wright, Billy Bergfeld, Chris Little, and Martin McCormick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 - 1:30pm.
