Virginia Gail Sherman

February 18, 1968 — April 5, 2024

Greenville

Virginia Gail Sherman, 56, a resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at Jackson Hospital on Friday, April 5th, 2024. A celebration of Gail's life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, April 14th, at Pleasant Home Church with Rev. Randy Sexton officiating.

Gail was born with the strong desire to nurture others and there was simply nothing than she loved more. She spent most of her life taking care of others whether it was seeing about those who were shut-in and unable to do so themselves or helping them with keeping up the various chores that had to be done around the house. She was an incredibly hard worker and was a true blessing in the lives of all those she helped over the years. In her free time, Gail was happiest in peaceful, quiet pursuits like fishing, but there was nothing she loved more than taking care of all of her grandbabies, whether they were family by blood or love. She was their beloved "Nana" and meant the world to more people than she could possibly imagine.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Edward William & Adean Hilburn Harris, and grandparents, Amos Samuel & Missouri Sue Harris and John D. & Fannie Pearl Hilburn. She is survived by her loving husband of 7 years, Ray Sherman; children, Laken Santana Hudson, Kyle Sherman, and Adrian Sherman; grandsons, Gabriel Kyle Sherman and Emerson Wade Sherman; siblings, Nellie Pearl (Jimmy) Hall and John W. Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.
