Vivian Whiddon Sport

Mrs. Vivian Whiddon Sport, 87, a resident of Dozier, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Friday, March 3rd, 2023. Funeral services for Vivian will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 6th, at Dozier Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Dozier Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.

Vivian was blessed with a spirited personality and just full to the brim of life. She didn't mince words and you always knew where you stood with her, a rarity during this day and time. She worked in the textile industry for several years, but truly shined while she ran her own business, Home Interiors and Gifts. Her business blossomed due to her infectious personality and how much she loved the opportunity it provided her to meet new people. Vivian also had a beautiful singing voice that she loved to share with others, whether it was singing with her sisters or in her church choir. She was a longtime member of Dozier Baptist Church and always loved her church family there. She truly lived the teachings of Christ with her warm, open heart and selfless aid to all those who needed it. Above all, Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family as her greatest treasure in life. There were few things she loved more than spending time with them, especially her years as a doting and supporting grandmother. She will be missed more than words could possibly express, but her loved ones will find comfort in all of the precious memories they made together over the years.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, J.V. & Marie Dearman Whiddon, and siblings, Farrell Whiddon, James Whiddon, Bobbie Powell, and Lillie Anderson. She is survived by her adoring spouse of 60 years, Robert Daniel Sport; their sons, Danny Sport and Michael (Sherry) Sport; grandchildren, Kevin Sport, Kristy (Marino) Bolling, and Katelyn Sport; brothers, Hilton Whiddon, and Tony Whiddon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Rhodes, Steven Kelley, Mickey Powell, Greg Sport, Marino Bolling, John Campbell, and Gene Spencer.
