Mr. Wesley Clyde Nettles, 47, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. A funeral service for Wesley will be held at 2 PM on Friday, November 11th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Williamson officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
Wesley proudly served his country with the United States Navy until his honorable discharge as Petty Officer Second Class. He was a wiz with technology, having earned his Associate's Degree in Computer Science, and loved playing around with it. He also freely gave of his time to help others, serving as a youth pastor with the Glenwood Assembly of God as he tried to help guide children and teenagers towards making good decisions in their lives.
Wesley was an avid LSU fan, and it wasn't just for football. He bled purple and gold and supporting them in every manner. If they had a competitive marbles team, he would have been there cheering them on! Otherwise, he also enjoyed a variety of different music styles, from soul-stirring gospel to Eminem. He had a marvelous sense of humor, and never missed an opportunity to pull a good prank. Wesley was also honest to a fault. He wore his thoughts on his face and his heart on his sleeve. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who truly adored his family. He put them first in his life and made sure they felt his love. He also doted on his beloved canine companions, Garfield and Tori. He had an amazing capacity to love and freely shared that with all who knew him. Words cannot possibly express how much his will be missed, but they will begin to find comfort in the cherished, treasured memories they made with Wesley over the years.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Michael John & Martha Brown Juneau. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Horn Nettles; children, Shelby (Desmond) Mahone, Abbie Hattaway, and Colton Hattaway; siblings, Lisa (Jim) Roberts and Joey Juneau; nieces, Em (Alex) Henderson, Shelby Roberts, and Carla Roberts; nephew, Josh Henderson; great-niece, Olivia McKeighan; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
