William Houston Lester

LESTER, Mr. William Houston, 64, a resident of Luverne, AL died Monday, October 8, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2 PM from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernie Enzor and Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Gladys Holmes Lester; three sisters, Betty Byrd, Fleta West, and Barbara Tompkins; and one brother, Randy Lester. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane Slawson Lester; three children, Gloria (Terry) Hale, Shannon (Michael) Odom, and Billy Ray (Kim) Lester; three grandchildren, Corey Hale, Austin Odom, and Ashlynn Odom; two sisters, Juanita (Bobby) Gooden and Mary (Foy) Hodge; and his brother Royce Lester. Active pallbearers will be Chris Benson, Roger Burgans, Anthony McLeod, Gary Byrd, Jerome Lester and Phillip Floyd.
