Mr. William Robert "Bobby" Milton, 77, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 15, 2021. A graveside service for Mr. Milton will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 19th, in Rutledge Cemetery with Rev. Roger Singleton and Rev. John Carney officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Milton was the kind of person who usually stayed in constant motion, always able to find things to keep him busy. He spent his working career with the United Parcel Service for 30 years before his retirement. After retiring, he loved visiting area estate sales, on the hunt for furniture he could refurbished. He also enjoyed his country farm in Ivy Creek, where he could constantly find things to keep him occupied. He was a gregarious man who made friends easily, and he was certainly a great friend to have. You never had to wonder where you stood with him, so his was a friendship to cherish to those who knew and loved him. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured every moment he was able to spend with his family. He was dearly loved and will be just as sorely missed, but his family can take comfort in the fact that he is at peace in the arms of his loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mr. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Thompson and Mary Lee McCoy Milton. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Vivian Fay Free Milton; their children, Bill (Tina) Milton and Melissa (Bill) Myers; grandchildren, Samantha Milton, Joshua Milton, Rachel Myers, and Emily Myers; and sisters, Joy Lee Phillips and Susie Cataldi.
Active pallbearers will be Earl Singleton, Robin Singleton, Joshua Milton, Jimmy Windham, Billy Ray Brazell, and Chester Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Evans, Ricky Free, Tim Walls, Mack Free, Larry Rayburn, and Steve Phillips.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to Home Instead Senior Care and Amedisys Hospice for their tender, loving care of Mr. Milton.
They request any memorial donations be made to Blue Ridge Baptist Church, 4471 Jasmine Hill Rd, Wetumpka, Alabama 36093.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
