William Thomas Reeves Sr

January 14, 1932 — February 13, 2025

Ft. Deposit

William Thomas "W.T." Reeves Sr, 93, a resident of Ft. Deposit, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, while surrounded by his family. Funeral services for William will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 19th, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery there with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.

W.T. may have been a truck driver by trade, but he was really just a professional "piddler"! He also proudly served his country with the United States Army. He wasn't the kind of person who could stay still for long, at least outside of a truck, so it's no surprise that he could always find something to keep himself busy around the house. W.T. was an avid gardener and loved to hunt dove, quail, and deer. He also happened to be one heck of a baseball player in his younger days.
W.T. had a big, open, and generous heart with others that included an outgoing personality that ensured he never met a stranger. He always had a soft spot for children in particular and was well-known around his beloved church, Spring Creek Baptist, for the candy he always had in his pockets to hand out to them. He had jokes for days too, but you could rest assured that he only joked on you if he liked you! Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and "Granddaddy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family with his whole heart and they always knew they could count on his unconditional and unwavering love. Words cannot express how much W.T. will be missed, but his loved ones will cherish the 93 years they were blessed to have with him.

W.T. was preceded in death by his parents, William Walter & Lizzy Bell Reeves, and brothers, Hubert Reeves and Homer Ray Reeves. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Edna Carlee Reeves; their children, William (Chrissy) Reeves Jr, Patricia Griffith, and Stacey (Scott AKA "Matthew") Meyers; grandchildren, Jeremy Griffith, Cody (Tessa) Griffith, Tara Reeves, Cortnee Meyers, Kaitlin (Dusty) Reeves, Michael (Jarvis) Shaw-Meyers, Cameron Meyers, Alex Goolsby, and Houston (Jean) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Colten, Kane, Jade, Knox, Loxley, Ramsey, Krue, Barrett, Cayson, Waylon, Laney Grace, Madelyn, Brayden, Jakob, Jensen, Norah, Ella, Emme, and Landon; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Griffith, Cody Griffith, Michael Shaw-Meyers, Cameron Meyers, Junior Reeves, and Kenneth Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Reeves, Alex Goolsby, Jarvis Shaw-Meyers, and Houston Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Spring Creek Baptist Church Children's Ministry.
