RHODES, Mr. William Oliver, 73, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2018. Funeral services for Mr. Rhodes will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 30, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hogwood officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Rhodes owned and operated Rhodes Grocery in Rutledge for 30 years and was a fixture in the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver “Doc” and Tinia Owens Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wilma Jean Williamson Rhodes; three children, Tony Rhodes, Tammy Edwards, and Todd Rhodes; seven grandchildren, Colton Edwards, Caleigh Edwards, Casey Edwards, Landyn Rhodes, Lakeysa Stinson, Daryl Stinson, and Thomas Stinson; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Duane (Dawn) Rhodes; and special family members, Ricky Rhodes and Patricia Gillespie. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Rhodes, Doug Rhodes, Charles Mount, Bo Mount, Dusty Jordan, and Dustin Jordan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 29, from 5 - 7pm.
