Mr. Willie Carl "Bill" Sipper, 78, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery on Monday, August 15th, 2022 after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mr. Sipper will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 18th, at South Luverne Baptist Church with Rev. Jud Flint and Rev. Tom Daniel officiating. Interment will follow Long Chapel Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
Bill enjoyed working in various fields over the years, including with Hainjes Furniture in Greenville and later as a collections officer for City Finance for a long time. He has been a long time, original member of South Luverne Baptist Church. He helped build the church that houses their congregation in town and, more than anything, he loved being a part of his church family. In his private time, he thoroughly enjoyed relaxing with a rod and reel at any nearby fishing hole. He was also a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and was often found on Saturdays in the Fall rooting for his beloved Crimson Tide to dominate on the playing field. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He cherished all of them as the most precious blessings in his life, and they loved him back just as fiercely. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him, but they will find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with their loved ones who went on before him far too soon.
Mr. Sipper was preceded in death by his sons, Tybo Sipper & Christopher Eugene Hendrick; grandson, Jarred Thomas Sipper; and parents, Bud & Ruby Kate Kelley Sipper. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, June Ray Sipper; daughter-in-law, Diane McNeil Sipper; grandson, Clayton Tyrone (Krystalyn) Sipper; great-granddaughters, Skylar Addison Sipper and Karlyn Addison Duffell; sister, Edna Ruth Sipper Richburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Kelley, Skeeter Kelley, Luke Boyd, Ben Boyd, Will Tate, Eddie Little, Allen Holland, and Ricky Free. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the deacons of South Luverne Baptist Church.
