Wilma Beasley Owens

Mrs. Wilma Beasley Owens, 97, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 7, in Sardis Cemetery with Brother Charles Sipper officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Owens was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of Luverne Church of Christ for as long as she was well enough to attend services. She was beloved by both her family and all those who knew her, and she always had a smile, hug, and a kind word for everyone she met.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, D.A. “Pete” Owens; parents, Sherman and Margaret Missouri Owens Beasley; and twelve siblings. She is survived by her two children, Bobby (Patsy) Owens and Paulette (Charles) West; six grandchildren, Randall (Jane) West, Renee (Dustin) Marchand, Rebecca (Thomas) McGough, Regina (Frank) Merritt, Jessica (Jeremy) Rowell, and Anna Marie (Wesley) Horne; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Owens’ grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Sardis Cemetery Fund, ℅ Donald White, 15403 Montgomery Highway, Highland Home, Alabama 36041. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
