Mr. Woodrow Arnold Walker, 72, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 26th, in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Keith Morgan and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Walker spent much of his youth working on shrimp boats and his love of fishing continued throughout his life. He was a gregarious and social person who always welcomed any and all visitors to his home. Later in life, one of his fondest joys was the simple pleasure of a quiet afternoon spent on his front porch.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Franklin and Mamie Jean Wallace Walker, and his twin sister, Arlene Walker Smith. He is survived by two children, Stacey (Todd) Sasser and Chad Walker; two granddaughters, Hunter & Bella Grace; great-granddaughter, Riley Grace; four siblings, Barbara Knighten, Donnie (Cheryl) Walker, Janice W. Johnson, and Clyde (Lisa) Walker; six nieces, Erika (Daniel) Bristow, Marlene (Chris) Henley, Kim (Bill) Hall, Shelley (Joey) Messick, Robin (Mike) Ross, and Terrie (Edward) Lowery; five nephews, Jared (Leigh) Walker, Brent Walker, Nathan (Mary Helen) Walker, Sandy (Brandy) Smith, and Freeman Walker; multiple great-nieces & great-nephews; and special family member, Larry Johnson.
Active pallbearers will be Sandy Smith, Bill Hall, Alex Motes, Dewey Crowe, Ben Brim, and Freeman Walker.
