Yvonne Owens Atkinson

ATKINSON, Mrs. Yvonne Owens, 73, a resident of Luverne died Thursday September 11, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Jones and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Atkinson is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ray “Red” Atkinson; her parents, Earnest and Ruby Green Owens; and two brothers, Billy Ray Owens and Charles Owens. Survivors include four children, Sandra Atkinson, Tommy (Phyllis) Atkinson, Patty (Jim) Bees, and Kathy (Charles) DeVoss; six grandchildren, Nicholas Atkinson, Laken (Orin) Warrick, Wesley (April) Atkinson, Laura (Eric) Hammonds, Kayla Atkinson, and Hunter DeVoss; four great grandchildren, Carlie Ann Hammonds, Logan Warrick, Henlie Hammonds, and Declan Warrick; a sister, Shelia (Phillip) Schofield, and a brother, Benny (Kathy) Owens. Active pallbearers will be Wesley Atkinson, Hunter DeVoss, Nicholas Atkinson, Orin Warrick, Michael Schofield, Paul Allen, Ricky Grant, and Chris Grant. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 pm until 8 pm. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Hospice Advantage or to one’s favorite charity.
