About Our Funeral Home and Our Commitment to You

Turner's Funeral Home had its beginning in 1912 as part of Turner Feed and Seed Supply Company here in Luverne. In 1937, Morris Turner moved the undertaking business to our present location and opened the funeral home in a new building. After a fire destroyed the original building in 1962, a new building was constructed on the same site and opened in 1963. In 1965, Morris Turner passed and his wife, Mabel, ran the funeral home until her passing in 1967. At that time the Turners' long-time employees, Frank Turner Jr, Joe Smith, and Ted Gainey acquired the business.

Frank's son, Ronny, joined the firm in 1976 after his military service was completed. In 1978, Frank and his wife, Irene, acquired all of the business from his two partners and Turners' Funeral Home, Inc. was established with Frank, Irene, and their children, Ronny and Lynda, as co-owners. Ronny's son, Chad, joined the business at the end of 1998 and became an owner in 2003, while Ronny's daughter, Lyndsey, joined the business full time in 2015. Frank and Irene remained active in the business until their deaths: Irene in 2003 and Frank in 2013. Today the firm is still locally owned and operated by three generations of the Turner family: Ronny & his wife, Linda, Lynda, Chad & Lisa, Lyndsey, and Chance.
